Abstract: The Rocco Caporale - Vatican Council II Collection consists of Caporale's research for his sociology dissertation on community at the Second Vatican Council: "The Dynamics of Hierocracy: A Study of Continuity-in-Change of a Religious System. The Second Vatican Council of the Roman Catholic Church." Caporale interviewed eighty-nine (89) participants of the Council from a variety of areas. The typed notes from these interviews, along with his research, and dissertation, are included within the collection.

Collection Description (Ex., administrative notes, diary, printed matter):  Professor Caporale of St. John’s typed and handwritten interview transcripts, color coded cards, reports methodological field notes, lists, outlines, questionnaires, and newspaper clippings.
